There's been a lot of press given to people who have anorexia or bulimia. Does anyone have any information on the other side of the coin, that is those who are overweight but still see themselves as too thin? Any information would be really, really appreciated.

It all stems from the same source. You may also be interested to read about body dysmorphic disorder, although it's not an eating disorder, it is about appearance and thought patterns. However most ED's come from your negative voices which were trained within your mind from usually a young age and have just kept going around and around. I truly recommend you read "The Secret Language of Eating Disorders" by Peggy Claude-Pierre. Anything about Anorexia/Bulemia is the same for people overweight thinking they are thin. It's a distortion problem. It's really got nothing to do with food, but that is how it manifests.

I wish you much luck on this journey, it is hard on the emotions and one in which you, or whoever is going through it, needs a lot of support with.

Much love,
Aisha.

*random guy commenting on things for no reason*

actually there was a study done, but not so much fat but muscle. men tend to have an overly ideal idea of being fit that involves compulsive weight lifting. therefor they tend to be obsessed with putting weight on rather then loosing it. it is the same psychological phenomina of following an ideal that may infact be unhealthy, it's just a different ideal.

Yeah there's a massive online community of them. Some get a sexual kick out of getting fatter.. some just think fat people look better and see themselves as too thin and try and get fatter.

and some people really do enjoy people with some decent padding. i for one don't like to date severely obese people, but i refuse to date someone skinny. i'm just afriad i'd hug them too hard and they'd snap or something.

These days I think I 'go' more for the person than the packaging. If the person interests me, the packaging becomes oh-so-hot.
