So they gave me a new controller for the electic blanket. It had already reset itself once by the time I got to bed last night, and this morning I woke up to it proudly telling me it was both on and off, and that the time was currently ':88'

This is rediculous.

I had my new electric blanket last night. The joy of having already paid for it months ago means I could just pick it up when they called. Pity it didn't work.

I think the controller is too technical for its own good. It has a digital display, several modes, a timer...and this one is broken.

It worked for a while, then reset itself; the clock, the timer, everything. Then the display segments decided to come on or go off at the wrong times. Then the 'up arrow' got stuck on, which meant that it continually changed what temperature it wanted to be, and kept beeping. You get the idea.

Ugh. It was nice to have a warm bed last night for once. And snuggly soft since this has the lambswool cover too.

It's payday today. A bittersweet day. You get your payslip and look at the figure at the top and think 'That's not too bad'. Then you look at the figure at the bottom, after tax is taken out and think 'well...it could be worse'. Then you fork out for utilities, rent, loans, food, other bills and think 'I'll be glad when the next pay gets here'.

Ugh.

Account is somehow in debit $150, when it should be about $120 in credit. I have to go through my records (not at work) but I'm hoping this is their screwup that can be fixed. I always keep track of where my money is.

My car, according to one repairer, might cost me about $700 to fix because they have to respray the entire panel. I believe this is crap.

There's a Yahoo list for Australians into the BDSM scene; more precisely for women into it. To be part of this list you have to 'identify as female' so women, intersex, m2f and f2m are all 'allowed'.

Apparently, however, in order to be considered m2f you have to have been living 'full time' for at least six months.

Seems more than a little unfair to me. I'd happily go full time if someone could guarantee I'd keep my job. But they can't, and that stops me. What if it keeps stopping me? Guess I don't join a group that seemed as though it could be useful.

It's not worth it.

The lights flickered, a loud bang and a nasty buzzing sound was heard. I ran to the kitchen to find my oven glowing like the sun at midday. I flicked it off and opened it to find the metal element inside now had a fucking huge hole bitten out of the side.

Great.

Today's Rant is on Roleplaying on MU*'s/MOO/whatever.

Why do so many people feel the need to impose rules on RP? Why are some so anal about the whole deal? Pose length, pose style, how you deal with others in the room and more all come under the auspices of the RP Police.

Why? Why not simply say 'This is how I like my RP' and then not RP with others who don't fit your style? Why bitch someone out because they pose 3 lines instead of eight? Why get angsty at someone because they pose waving to you as you enter the room and you are just passing through? Why tell someone they've got the 'rules' wrong when they do PSI poses or whatever?

Sheesh people. Get over it!

(Nope, this isn't aimed at anyone here.)
