actually there was a study done, but not so much fat but muscle. men tend to have an overly ideal idea of being fit that involves compulsive weight lifting. therefor they tend to be obsessed with putting weight on rather then loosing it. it is the same psychological phenomina of following an ideal that may infact be unhealthy, it's just a different ideal.
