The First Cut Is The Deepest

I have a small screen for my Gamecube. It's been designed to fit over the top of the cube and click into place, while still allowing access to the disk door, and the various buttons. There's one design fault however. The plastic that slips down over the sides of the cube also covers the top bits of the side vents. With the hot days lately the cube (dying though it is) has been suffering.
I took a good look at it and decided that the side bits weren't the main structural elements and could be cut to allow better air access. So at work this morning with hacksaw and bench drill I made the necessary adjustments. I'm pleased to say that it's as strong as it started and tonight I'll see how well I did measuring the holes.
