As told to me by my workmate, regarding the problems we've had today.
Once upon a time there was a fruit company. The fruit Helpdesk was inundated by calls from customers telling us that the apples were bad. The fruit Helpdesk contacted the fruit R&D Engineers who had originally sourced the fruit and told them this.
The fruit R&D Engineers tested the apples and found that they were indeed bad. The fruit R&D Engineers contacted the fruit Quality Control Engineer and informed him of this.
The fruit Quality Control Engineer assured them he would test the apples and get back to them. He found that the apple shop wasn't easy to get to from where he was, so instead visited a nearby orange shop. He bought an orange, tasted it, and found it to be excellent. He therefore declared the apples to be excellent and rang the fruit R&D Engineers to inform them of this.
This was a great surprise to the fruit R&D Engineers who had been hanging around the apple shop waiting for the fruit Quality Control Engineer to arrive. When pressed the fruit Quality Control Engineer admitted that he had, in fact, tested oranges in lieu of apples, but didn't see what the problem was. After all, they're both fruit, aren't they?
